November 2015 Summary

In Brief:
Wet and mild, particularly mild at night. A short cold spell from 20th to 23rd.

Temperature [Minimum]:
Night-time minima ranged from 0.9 degs C on the night ending 23rd, to 13.7 degs C on nights ending 5th and 10th, giving an average minimum for the month of 9.82 degs C.  This was only 0.1 degs C less than the average for October 2015, and the second highest for November since at least 2003, with 2011 being the highest with 10.22 degs C.
The temperature fell below 5 degs C on three nights, the fewest for November since 2012.
2010 is still the only November since at least 2003 with a reading below zero.

Temperature [Maximum]:
The lowest daytime maximum for the month was 8.1 degs C on the 21st, making it the coldest November day since 2012.  The 6th and 7th both saw the highest temperatures of the month, which was 15.9 degs C.
This temperature has been exceeded every November since at least 2003, except for 2004 and 2011.
The average maximum for the month was 13.63 degs C,  making it the mildest November since 2011 and the 6th mildest since 2003.

Rainfall:
138.7 mm of rain fell during November 2015, which compares with 63.2 in October 2015 and 156.1 in November 2014.
The wettest day itself was the 7th with 14.0 mm. More rain than this has fallen in one day in every November since at least 2007.  It was not an abnormally wet November, yet there were only two completely dry days, which were the 1st and 2nd. This is the fewest in November since 2009.  There were five days with no measurable rain.
The 3rd to the 7th was a wet spell with 55.2 mm, whereas the 8th to the 12th saw only 3.5 mm.

Cumulatively 1059.9 mm of rain has fallen in the period January to November 2015, compared to 1159.4 mm during the same period in 2014. [-8.58%].
