November 2014 Summary

In Brief:
An unsettled month dominated by low pressure until the last week, with rain or showers on most days, although fine during the final week.  Temperatures about average by day but chilly nights.

Temperature: [Minimum]:
The temperature fell to 0.5 degs C on the night of the 24th/25th,  making it the coldest night since March 24th.  It was also the lowest November temperature since 2010.
The mildest night of the month was that of the 1st/2nd, with a low of 12.4 degs C.  The temperature has exceeded this every November since 2009.  This gives an average minimum of 7.2 degs C, making November 2014 the second coldest for nights since at least 2002, with only 2010 being colder.
The temperature fell below 5 degs C on five nights, the most since November 2010.

Temperature [Maximum]:
The coldest day of the month was the 25th with 8.6 degs C.  This was the coldest day since March 27th, and the second coldest day of 2014 so far.  The warmest day of the month was the 2nd, with 17.4 degs C, which is just below midway for the maximum temperature during November since 2003.
The average daytime temperature for the month was 13.31 degs C, making it the second coldest month of 2014, with March being the coldest.

Rainfall:
156.1 mm of rain fell during the month, making November 2014 the 4th wettest, and 4th driest, of the last seven.  This compares to 107.7 mm in November 2013, and 132.8 mm in October 2014.  It was the wettest month since February 2014.
Rain fell on 22 days of the month, the wettest day itself being the 10th with a comparatively low amount, for the wettest day, of 16.4 mm. 
All 8 dry days of the month were after the 17th, and only 1.4 mm of rain fell after the 21st.  The last five days were dry.

Cumulatively 1159.4 mm of rain has fallen in 2014 to the end of November, which compares with 1055.5 mm during the same period in 2013 [+9.84%].
