The lowest night-time temperature of the month was -3.8 degs C, on the night of the 27th/28th. This was the coldest ever November night at this location [since 2002 or before] and the first ever November night below zero. The previous coldest November night was 0.8 degs C in 2005. It was also the second coldest night ever at this location, the coldest being the 6th/7th January 2009, when the temperature fell to -4.6 degs C.
The minimum temperature fell below 5 degs C on 12 occasions this month, the most for November. Previously the most times this had happened was 8 in 2005.
This compares favourably though with March 2010, when it fell below 5 degs C 18 times.
The temperature also fell below zero twice this month, which has never happened in November before [since 2002 or before].
