Temperature [Max]: The average daytime temperature for the month was 21.9 degs C, making August 2009 not only the warmest month of this summer, but also the warmest month since August 2006.
The highest maximum was 24.2, on the 12th, though this was not the hottest day of the summer - which was 25.4 on July 1st. Therefore on no occasions did the temperature exceed 25 degs C during August 2009. The lowest maximum daytime temperature was 18.6, on the 28th.

Temperature [Min]: The average nighttime temperature for the month was 14.14 degs C, which was the highest of 2009 so far and also the highest August average minimum since 2006.
The highest minimum was 16.6 on the 4th, the lowest 10.6 on the 8th.

Rain: 74.2 mm of rain fell during the month, which was well down on July's figure of 216.8, and on the 132.6 mm which fell in August 2008. The wettest day itself was the 4th, with 13.0 mm of rain.
Amounts in excess of 5 mm only occured on 6 days, though one of these was Bank Holiday Monday, and only 7.5 mm in total fell between August 11th and 23rd.
