July 2009 Summary

Temperature [max]: The highest temperature of the month was 25.4 degs, recorded on the 1st, at the end of the heatwave that started in June. This was the warmest day at this location since September 2006. The coolest day was the 16th with 18.1 degs.
The average daytime temperature was 21.53 degs, which is slightly up on the last two Julys.

Temperature [min]: The highest night-time temperature of the month was 18.4 degs, and as with daytime temperatures, this was recorded on the 1st, and was also the highest at this location since September 2006. The night of the 10th saw the lowest temperature of 11.4 degs.
The average for night-time temperatures was 13.84 degs. As with the day-time average, this was slightly up on the last two Julys.

Rain: 216.8 mm of rain fell in July making it the wettest month ever recorded here, although figures only go back 16 months.
This total was a massive 200.7 mm more than fell in June and 50.1 mm more than in July 2008, which was itself the wettest month of last year.
The actual wettest day of this July was the 16th with 43.2 mm, which was the individual wettest day since the 9th of July 2008. Throughout this July there were only 5 completely dry days.
